Key details about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 screen size and resolution have surfaced online ahead of the launch.
Samsung has a reputation for making the best smartwatches for smartphones running Android OS. Back in 2021, the Korean brand switched from Tizen to Wear OS and improved the screen resolution as well.
Now, Samsung is reportedly planning to bring similar improvements to its next-generation smartwatches including the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.

Reliable tipster Ice Universe claims the Galaxy Watch 6 series will get a bump in the screen and resolution department. The Galaxy Watch 6 will be available in two sizes including 40mm and 44mm. The 40mm version of the smartwatch will reportedly sport a 1.31-inch display with a 432 x 432 pixels resolution.

For comparison, the Galaxy Watch 5 features a 1.2-inch screen that offers a 396 x 306 pixels resolution, according to a report by SamMobile. Likewise, the 44mm version of the Galaxy Watch 6 is expected to come with a 1.47-inch circular OLED display with a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels.
To recap, the 44mm version of the Galaxy Watch 5 has a 1.4-inch screen with a resolution of 450 x 450 pixels. So, the 40mm version of the upcoming Galaxy Watch will get a 10 percent bump in screen size and 19 percent higher resolution.
The 44mm version of the Galaxy Watch 6, on the other hand, will get a 5 percent bump in the screen size and a bump in the resolution. Still, the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic are expected to offer sharper visuals.
It will be interesting to see whether Samsung uses a more powerful chipset to power up these higher-resolution displays. Since the blood glucose monitoring feature isn’t likely to see the light of day anytime soon, the Galaxy Watch 6 series could retain the health and fitness tracking features of its predecessor,
In other words, the upcoming Galaxy smartwatches could support workout tracking, sleep tracking, SpO2 measurement, heart rate monitoring, ECG, GPS, body composition analysis, blood pressure monitoring, barometer, and accelerometer.
Aside from this, the Galaxy Watch 6 series could adopt a MIL-STD-810G design and carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. In terms of connectivity, it is likely to get Wi-Fi, NFC, and GPS support.
