More than 100 million Samsung smartphone users worldwide have received an early Valentine’s Day gift in the form of a software upgrade this year. Notably, the upgrade brings a myriad of enhancements and features to eligible Galaxy smartphones.
Samsung has started rolling out the highly anticipated OneUI 5.1 update to the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S20 series, and a few other select smartphones. The update boasts a slew of notable camera improvements, according to a report by GizmoChina. For instance, it includes a portrait mode that uses artificial intelligence to generate realistic bokeh effects.

Other notable components of the upgrade include enhanced security and privacy. The new privacy controls enable users to manage their app permissions and restrict the data that apps are likely to access. Aside from this, there’s a new function that notifies users as soon as an app tries to access their microphone or camera.
Likewise, users will be able to revoke rights from inactive apps. The update also comprises always-on display customizations. It also includes improved quick settings and a new option to restrict incoming calls and messages while playing games.
