Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ Camera Specs Leaked

The Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ smartphones’ camera specifications have surfaced online before launch.

Samsung has a reputation for using high-end cameras on its Galaxy S-series phones. The Korean brand’s Galaxy S23 lineup boasts advanced camera features such as 200x Space Zoom and 8K 30fps video recording.

Furthermore, these handsets come with different lenses for various shooting scenarios. Also, they offer superior low-light performance with the help of advanced processing algorithms and large sensors. As a result, professional photographers heap praises on the Galaxy S series cameras.

Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ leaked camera details

According to the latest leak, the upcoming Galaxy S24 series won’t get major camera upgrades over its predecessor’s camera. Reliable tipster Revegnus claims the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ will house the same 50MP Samsung GN3 sensor that has been used for the last three years.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, will feature a 200MP Samsung HP2 sensor, which is also available on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It is pretty disappointing to see no major improvements in the non-Ultra models. In contrast, Oppo recently introduced a concept dubbed “all cameras are equal.”

As part of the vision, the company uses three 50MP periscope cameras. This lens produces impressive zoom quality results, even in low light. There’s been a considerable slowdown in smartphone camera innovation due to the limitations of the device’s form factor. Moreover, the law of diminishing returns also restricts camera innovation, according to a GizmoChina report.

Moreover, the report suggests manufacturers aren’t willing to invest in advanced camera technology because a typical user barely notices improvements in the image quality and features. Also, a consumer may not want to spend a fortune on a phone with advanced cameras.

So, smartphone manufacturers are likely to focus more on other features like processing power, battery life, and 5G connectivity than cameras. Still, some smartphone brands are making slight improvements in camera hardware and software.

It is safe to say that Samsung will need to step up its camera game if it wants to lock horns with other leading smartphone manufacturers.
