Valkyrae has her maiden magazine spread on Vogue Philippines as Youtube’s most-watched female streamer steps out from behind the screen.
While shooting for Vogue Philippines, Rae said on a behind-the-scenes vlog that she “never thought it would be Vogue!” With 400+ million viewers on Youtube, Valkyrae is a streaming phenom.
Moreover, she is considered one of the world’s most influential streamers and content creators. To those unaware, Rae has won the 2020 Content Creator of the Year at The Game Awards.
Also, she has won the 2021 Gaming Creator of the Year at the Adweek Creator Visionary Awards. Aside from this, she was featured on Forbes 30 Under 30 Games list.
Valkyrae shoots for Vogue Philippines
Last year, Rae decided to deviate her focus from streaming and make her foray into other pursuits. Now, her interest in fashion has helped Rae find a spot in the May issue of Vogue Philippines.
Making her print magazine feature debut, Rae wore power suits, a silver knit cardigan, a feathered dress, and a skirt. She posed with vintage gaming equipment. Also, she posed with a handheld camcorder and Apple’s green clamshell iBook.

Fashion associate Renee De Guzman explained that Rae’s shoot was largely inspired by the streamer’s memories of growing up as a gamer. “Nostalgia was a starting point for me,” De Guzman says.
“At a young age, I’ve always been involved with playing video games because of my brothers. I grew up with the Nintendo 64, camcorders, and of course, the big old televisions.”
According to Rae, video games helped her cope with tension at home and problems in school. “My mom is the one who got me into video games, and if she never got me into video games at a young age, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” she revealed during the stream.
“Rae’s overall persona was what I aimed to reflect on this feature because of how impactful variety streamers are even beyond the stream,” De Guzman explains.
“I simply wanted people to see Rae and her radiating positive energy. As someone who is multifaceted, I wanted to showcase both entities–Rae and Valkyrae.”
