Pokimane Urges xQc Not To Challenge Olympic Committee Over His Twitch DMCA Strikes

Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys has urged Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel to refrain from challenging the International Olympic Committee in his Twitch DMCA strike counter-claim. The Canadian video blogger has highlighted concerns with his legal team.

Twitch banned xQc because he showed clips of the Tokyo Olympics on his channel. The Twitch star clapped back at the IOC with a counter-claim. As expected, the situation has triggered discussion among other content creators. Social media personality Ethan Klein went as far as saying that he was “nervous” for xQc, per Dexerto.

According to Klein, the Twitch streamer’s “horrible” lawyer, Ryan Morrison had “royally screwed him” in the past. However, he is not the only one with concerns. Pokimane, on the other hand, said she didn’t want to defame the lawyer’s character in any way because she doesn’t know him personally.

However, Pokimane admitted that she has some concerns over the claims that he allegedly acts as an agent and lawyer to several streamers. “I don’t really know Ryan Morrison and I don’t want to speak [about] his character or anything like that… [but] I believe that he acts as a lawyer and as an agent to streamers and content creators, and I feel like that is not a good position to be in,” she said.

According to Poki, it could be a “conflict of interest” in some cases. “Your lawyer should always be someone who is trying to get as strict and as beneficial of a contract as possible,” she said.

If they serve as someone’s agent as well, they might “just want the deal to go through because [they] get a commission.” Poki believes that the two roles “should be split,” and nobody should ever get someone to act as both.

As far as the case is concerned, Ryan Morrison is expecting the IOC to make the “right decision.”Furthermore, let the counter-claim go through without further legal action. He also claimed that his legal team will fight very fiercely for xQc regardless of what happens.
