Pokemon cosplayer Sarah showed off her amazing take on Sword & Shield character Marnie.
Making her first appearance in Nov. 2019, Marnie rose to tremendous popularity among Pokemon Sword & Shield fans, who love her fierce personality and punk aesthetic. A talented cosplayer, Sarah brought the Spikemuth Gym leader to life with her flawless outfit and perfect posses.
Sarah looks so much like Marnie, it’s almost like the Gen 8 Trainer has jumped out of the screen. Sword & Shield initially gives players a rival in the form of childhood friend Hop, however, they soon face challenges from a Trainer named Marnie, who hails from a small town of Spikemuth and boasts her own entourage called Team Yell.
Sarah, a cosplayer and Pokemon collector transformed into the heroine on Instagram with her flawless costume. The highly skilled artist captured the character’s punk-style leather jacket, as well as the pink pleated dress she wears underneath. She recreated a viral scene from the game where Marnie learns to smile.
She puts a finger on each side of her mouth, grinning while she stands next to a plushie of Gen 8 ‘mon, Morpeko. She is even wearing Marnie’s signature black choker and silver neck choker and mirrored her twin ponytail hairstyle, which includes a red ribbon on the left side of her head.
Marnie made her comeback to Sword & Shield in Oct. last year, in the form of the Crown Tundra DLC.
Released only a year ago, the RPG is expected to become one of the highest-selling titles in the Pokemon franchise. Watch this space for the latest cosplays.
