Google Pixel Tablet Spotted On FCC, UL Solutions Website Before Launch

The long-rumored Google Pixel Tablet has been spotted on the FCC database with key details ahead of its impending launch.

Aside from that, the upcoming tablet has popped up on the UL Solutions website. According to the FCC listing, Google’s Android tablet will support UWB (Ultra Wideband) connectivity. The UL Solutions website divulges the device’s charging dock details and charging specs.

The recently spotted FCC listing suggests the Pixel Tablet is a wireless mobile device. However, the UL Solutions listing implies that the device is a tablet. Moreover, it carries model number GTU8P on the FCC website.

The upcoming Android tablet will support three connectivity standards including UWB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Regrettably, the listing does not confirm what type of device it is. Nevertheless, the UL Solutions listing implies it is an Android tablet.

Google Pixel Tablet expected release date, other details

To recap, the search engine giant showed off the Pixel Tablet at the Pixel 7 series launch event last year. Google confirmed that its maiden tablet will become official in 2023. The FCC listing is a major sign that the tablet’s launch is around the corner.

On the downside, the FCC listing only confirms the tablet will support UWB connectivity. Google is probably planning to add another use case for UWB connectivity with the Pixel Tablet. Notably, Android Digital Car Key uses UWB. So, MySmartPrice suggests the Pixel Table could adopt a tap-to-transfer connectivity system.

Also, Google is reportedly working on UWB connectivity for its Nest speakers. More connectivity features such as tapping the phone to the tablet or tapping the tablet to the speaker to initiate music casting could be in the offing in the coming years. Details about the implications of UWB connectivity on Google’s tablet are still scarce.

Google Pixel Tablet listed on the UL Solutions website

The UL Solutions listing confirms model number GTU8P has been assigned to a tablet. There’s a duplicate listing that comprises a charging dock with model number GMD6J. Moreover, the listing shows the device will support up to 18W fast charging.

The charging dock, on the other hand, will deliver 30W fast charging to the tablet. The Pixel tablet is expected to make its debut at the Google I/O 2023 developer event, which will kick off on May 10. The American tech firm is likely to take the wraps off several products including the Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, Android 14, Pixel Tablet, and more at the event.
