Vivo V50: Specifications and Highlights
The V50 shares some features with its predecessor, the Vivo V40. This new model uses the same Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor found in the V40. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The dual rear camera system is back, featuring two 50-megapixel sensors.
The camera setup looks familiar, but the company says the V50 uses 50-megapixel sensors that are different from the previous model. A 50-megapixel camera handles selfies. The Vivo V50 sports the same 6.78-inch quad-curved FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate as its predecessor.
Sleek and Stylish
Beyond the shared features, the V50 retains the V40 series’ design but introduces new color options: Titanium Grey, Rose Red, and Starry Night. The phone features a glass back and a slimmer profile than the V40, measuring just over 7.39mm thick and weighing approximately 199g.
The new version includes a larger battery and improved charging. It houses a 6,000mAh battery, a step up from the 5,500mAh battery in the previous model. The V50 supports 90W charging, a boost from the previous 80W. Finally, it boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings for enhanced water resistance (within specified limits).
These IP ratings are usually found on top-tier flagship phones, making their inclusion here rather unexpected. The device also offers AI features such as Circle to Search, AI Transcript, and AI Live Call Translation. Vivo is also promising improved camera performance with the V50.
