YouTuber JerryRigEverything shares teardown videos and for performing durability tests. He recently shared a teardown video of the Galaxy Z Flip 4.

He begins by peeling the display off with the help of a heat gun. The teardown also reveals an under-display metal backing, which is missing on the Galaxy Z Fold 4, as per a SamMobile report.

The screen stays around the hinge with the help of a few metal slats and an extra sheet. The YouTuber removes the back panel by applying some heat, but the rest of the process is standard.

He goes on to open a myriad of screws and unclip a few ribbons to free all components from their respective positions. Interestingly, there are no vapor chambers or thermal paste to restrict overheating of the internal components.

So, it is safe to say that Samsung is using just graphite pads to cool the hardware. The teardown reveals the improved hinge mechanism that made its debut with the Galaxy Z Flip 4.

Moreover, when JerryRigEverything reverses the entire process, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is still functioning. In other words, Samsung’s foldable devices are capable of standing the test of time.
