Samsung Rolls Out Galaxy S22 Update To Remove Performance Limit In Games

Samsung is rolling out a Galaxy S22 update to undo the performance limit in games following the GOS fiasco.

Samsung has been limiting the performance of its phones lately. The South Korean tech company attributes its decision to slow down its phones to thermal management and battery efficiency.

The games did not run efficiently because the CPU and GPU performance was limited via the GOS (Game Optimization Service). Moreover, Samsung’s Game Booster app that runs in the background also limited the CPU and GPU performance, as per a report by SamMobile.

It was recently found that the new Galaxy S22 series offered worse performance in games. The company released a statement, stating that it will release a software update that will eliminate the performance limit.

Now, the much-awaited Galaxy S22 series update is rolling out. According to Google’s translation from Korean to English, the aforesaid update will remove the CPU and GPU performance limit when running a game.

Aside from that, it will add a new “Game Performance Management Mode” in Game Booster. However, it is still unclear if it is any different from the performance priority option that is currently available in Game Booster.

Samsung did not confirm when will the update hit other markets. However, the company has been sued in Korea over the GOS fiasco, the update is likely to roll out to other regions soon.

Moreover, the Galaxy S22 series update brings improvements to the camera, as well as the device’s security. Stay tuned to find out when this update starts rolling out outside Korea.
