Twitch streamer Tubbo experienced a rare tech issue on the platform when he got banned from his own Twitch channel’s chat.
The Minecraft superstar was broadcasting a cooking stream along with fellow Minecraft star’s 5up and Ranboo. The Minecraft stars were engaging their viewers on chat. Despite a surge in Minecraft YouTubers on the platform, this trio continues to be one of the most popular channels on Twitch.
Much to his chagrin, Tubbo was banned from his own chat. It is still unclear how this even happened since the owner of a channel can’t be banned from their own chat under any circumstance. Tubbo shared his phone screen noting that he couldn’t see what others were saying in the chat as he was inexplicably banned.

“Wait, what?” he said. “I just got banned from my own Twitch chat. ‘You are banned from chat. You are unable to participate unless a moderator unbans you’” he read.
According to Dexerto, a Twitch staff member who was watching at the time could have banned Tubbo from his chat. He was unbanned soon, much to the relief of his fans who were restlessly waiting for him to participate in chat again.
The stream was a huge success with over 84,000 viewers. Tubbo went on to stream for under four hours. He has more than 4 million followers on the Amazon-owned platform in just one year. Ranboo, on the other hand, gained 3.5 million on the platform in only a single year.
