Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Camera Details Revealed

The camera setup of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra might adopt an all-new telephoto zoom tech, according to a new report.

Samsung will reportedly unveil the Galaxy S23 series early next year. However, the Korean tech giant is still mum on the next Galaxy S-series smartphones’ launch timeline.

In the meantime, details about the Galaxy S24 Ultra have popped up on the internet. The Galaxy S24 lineup isn’t likely to see the light of day at least until January 2024.

A fresh set of rumors suggest the Galaxy S24 Ultra will use a different telephoto camera tech than what the Galaxy S23 Ultra is likely to offer.

Details about this new technology are still few and far between. However, tipster Ice Universe claims the smartphone giant is planning to use “a new solution” for its telephoto and zoom offering.

To recap, LG recently showed off a “true” telephoto zoom smartphone camera lens which has a precision actuator and moving lens parts. As a result, this telephoto zoom lens will bring “true” optical zoom to smartphones.

There is a possibility that the new technology alludes to this telephoto zoom camera. The current-gen Galaxy Ultra models have two telephoto lenses that have fixed focal ranges.

A report by 91mobiles suggests the Galaxy S23 Ultra might be able to deliver optical quality zoom at its standard 1x focal length, at 3x and 10x focal lengths.

However, any point in between will be a digital zoom offering. Here, the camera could crop into a sensor to offer a better-looking quality zoom.

Some reports suggest the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra will pack a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The phone will ship with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB storage.

For optics, it will reportedly feature four rear-mounted cameras including a 200MP main camera. Also, it might get a 12MP ultra-wide or a portrait camera, along with a couple of telephoto cameras.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is likely to use a 5,000mAh battery to draw its juices. Moreover, this cell could support 45W fast charging. The phone might also get a satellite connectivity feature.
