Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter launched her skincare product ‘RFLCT’ to protect users from blue light pollution emitted from screens. However, fans called the product a “scam.”
The Queen of YouTube had finally unveiled her two-year mysterious project. The skincare product was made to benefit everyone who uses a screen and to boost one’s skin’s defense against blue light.

However, RFLCT’s terms of service stated that they do not warrant that the results that may be obtained from the use of the service will be accurate or reliable. They also mentioned that they are not responsible if certain information on its website happens to be inaccurate.
Moreover, Various studies have shown that artificial blue light has no significant impact on human skin.
Netizens Slam Valkyrae’s Skincare Product For Being Unscientific
Netizens pointed out that blue light doesn’t have any damaging effects on people’s skin. They criticized Valkyrae and the company for fooling consumers into believing that the product is based on science.
Streamer Hasan Piker also said that he doesn’t believe a blue light is destroying people’s skin in the way the RFLCT product presents itself.
Hours after the announcement, Valkyrae tweeted that she was told to wait until tomorrow to speak. She added that she was confused. However, she later deleted the tweet.
Finally on October 21, two days after the launch, she broke her silence on the issue. She said that all the hate, doubt, concerns, and criticism are all warranted and valid.

She added that she was very upset and confused when she saw the website. Rachell said that there were no links to the studies or credits to the labs or the people that work behind the scenes to make RFLCT happen.
She concluded that she will soon return to streaming. Rachell also promised to share more details about RFLCT as soon as the site is updated.
