Elon Musk wealth has skyrocketed to a whopping £167 billion, which converts roughly to about $230 billion.
The worth of Elon Musk has increased to an astonishing $230 billion (£167 billion). As a result, his lead over Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has stretched, making him the world’s richest man.
Musk’s personal fortune increased after a share sale of his Aerospace company, SpaceX. Aside from that, the Tesla stock’s strong performance played a vital role in increasing his personal wealth, according to a report from DailyStar.
Bezos became the richest man in the world following a surge at Amazon amid the coronavirus pandemic. His net worth had increased to $191 billion (£139 billion) at the time.
However, Musk has now dethroned Bezos and taken away his world’s richest person title. In fact, the 50-year-old business magnate is now richer than Warren Buffett and Bill Gates combined.
Earlier this year, the SpaceX chief executive announced that he will be giving away $150 million (£109 million). Out of the total amount, he pledged to give away a $100 million (£72 million) prize to the winner of a carbon removal contest.
His wealth increased by nearly $60 billion (£43 billion) in the meantime. As a response to the news of his increasing lead over Bezos, the Tesla founder recently tweeted a silver medal emoji at the Amazon founder.
