Sweet Anita Says She Was Harassed As A Game Design Student

Sweet Anita, an eminent Twitch streamer, has revealed how she was sexually harassed as a game design student.

Anita has been vocal about her mental health issues and other problems such as the stalking incident which she had talked about previously. This time she has unveiled a horrifying incident she faced as a game design student.

The internet star explained about the abuse using her Twitter account. She wrote that she was in a male-dominated class wherein there were 40 boys and she was the only girl. She said that the boys would take bets behind her back on who would sleep with her first, per Dexerto.

Anita further added that they would pretend to hump behind her back offered to teach her what a “spit-roasting” was. In her next tweet, she wrote that she decided to discontinue the course and opted for a degree in animation instead.

Surprisingly, it was again a class of 40 boys with she being the only girl. However, in the animation class, the boys treated her with respect. She said that she knew at the time that she never wanted to graduate and work with those men and she didn’t want her life to look like that.

Sweet Anita tweeted further and said that her life would he hell had she chosen to continue with her game design course. She also mentioned that people don’t believe her. She concluded by linking an article regarding the ongoing controversy of Blizzard.

California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) has sued Activision Blizzard for engaging in unfair workplace practices, discriminating against female employees, and failing to take disciplinary action against bad actors.

Anita tweeted that she wasn’t the only one with a story and that it’s not a problem with men but with gaming. “These are the people we create when we only buy consoles for boys, and then watch them grow up alone in their rooms with no contact with women,” she wrote.

On Wednesday, Activision Blizzard employees walked out in response to the lawsuit. #ActiBlizzWalkout trended on social media. This was in response to the walkout with over 100,000 tweets. On knowing this, gamers too decided to boycott games such as Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch.
