Samsung Galaxy S22 series smartphones, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets will launch on February 9.
Samsung fans have been waiting with bated breath to get their hands on the Galaxy S22 series. Much to their delight, Samsung has finally confirmed the lineup’s global launch date.
As indicated by some earlier reports, Samsung is set to host its Unpacked event on February 9, 2022. The South Korean tech behemoth has released an invitation for the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 on Samsung Newsroom.

Aside from that, the company has shared a teaser that confirms the Galaxy S22 moniker. The image has “breakthrough the night” and “break the rules of light” written. This could allude to the phone’s capability to capture impressive night mode photos.
Also, there is a possibility that Samsung could release more such teasers ahead of launch. The company’s president TM Roh recently indicated that the Galaxy Note series and the Galaxy S lineups will be unified.
Moreover, Roh teased the imminent launch of a the handset. He described it as “the most noteworthy S series phone.” Roh probably is referring to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Ultra might come with an S Pen support.
Due to the still-raging pandemic, the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked will be an online-only event. Furthermore, the lineup will feature Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus, and the top-notch Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra models.

Depending on the region of launch, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series is likely to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset, or the company’s own Exynos 2200 processor.
Moreover, the vanilla model will reportedly sport a 6.06-inch FHD+ LTPS display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the Galaxy S22+ will feature a larger 6.55-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate but has the same LTPO panel. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, will reportedly feature a 6.81-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Aside from that, some reports claim that the Samsung Galaxy S22 series will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The US and other select regions will get an Adreno GPU.
However, the Indian variant will probably use the Exynos 2200 chipset, along with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 (expandable) storage.
The device could run Android 12 OS with OneUI 4.0 custom skin on top. Other notable features include Samsung Pay, DeX, Bixby voice assistant, IP68 rating, Dolby Atmos audio, and in-display fingerprint sensors.
Furthermore, the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra will be backed by a 3,700mAh battery, 4,500mAh, and 5,000mAh batteries, respectively. Moreover, these cells support up to 45W fast charging.
On the photography front, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ will reportedly get a 50MP main camera, a 12MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens at the back. The Galaxy S22 Ultra could house four rear-mounted cameras including a 108MP SuperClear lens.
In addition to that, the Ultra model could get a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and two 10MP telephoto lenses with OIS and 3x and 10x zoom. For selfies, the phone is likely to feature a 40MP shooter on the front.
