Overwatch 2 LEGO has been making an appearance at some retailers, even before Blizzard announces the game’s release date.
Some hawk-eyed Overwatch fans recently spotted Overwatch 2 LEGO at certain retailers. Interestingly, the game developer, Blizzard hasn’t even announced the game’s release date.
Overwatch has been a part of multiple brand activations and collaborations in the past, including partnerships with its esport, the Overwatch League.
However, the most notable collaboration was 2019’s in-game activation for LEGO. As part of this partnership, Bastion received a skin made using tiny colored bricks.
Now, it seems that Overwatch and LEGO are gearing up to collaborate again in 2021. This speculation surfaced after fans spotted an Overwatch 2 LEGO collection in some stores, per Dexerto.
Overwatch 2 LEGO Could Be Around The Corner
Taking to Overwatch’s official subreddit, fans on the game shared official pictures of a new Overwatch 2 LEGO set. The set seems to bear a striking resemblance to the cinematic we saw when the Overwatch 2 was first announced, with Mei and Tracer locking horns with a giant omnic adversary.
Although this might prove to be a great collaboration, some fans have raised questions over its uncertain timing. Some reports claim that the game’s sequel has been postponed until further notice. Do you think these LEGO sets could be a sign that Overwatch 2 is right around the corner? Let us know in the comments section below.
Fans React To Overwatch 2 LEGO
According to one fan, LEGO is ignoring some Blizzard impediments and sticking to its initial plan of going ahead with the set. However, another fan shared a different idea in the comments section.
“Or, it could be the opposite, that things are in motion to start rolling out new merch. There was an update for artbook 2 within the past week or two, and there’s the short story compilation that was announced the other that.”
Regrettably, Blizzard is still mum on its plan to launch the much-awaited sequel to its well-received first-person shooter game. In the meantime, Overwatch fans can check out Overwatch’s 2021 Winter Wonderland seasonal event before it ends in January.
