OnePlus took a shot at Apple all the while promoting their product on Instagram. The photo displayed a white OnePlus Pro 9 surrounded by apples.
Manufacturers have labeled the OnePlus Pro 9 as a ‘forbidden fruit’ due to the inability of those in the U.S. and Canada to buy the base 128GB model.
The image was a subtle dig at Apple, as reported by News 18. However, this isn’t the first time that OnePlus has attempted to mock Apple. Last year, the company posted a similar image with a caption that reads: “In a world of apples, stand out with a OnePlus.”
The mockery of Apple by OnePlus has sparked a discussion among netizens. Some users expressed their fondness for OnePlus. However, another group of users dismissed it by considering it as a marketing tactic.

Last month, the company stated that the OnePlus 9 Pro with 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage was not coming to North America. In July, they said that it was prioritizing the 12×256 GB version. This was done to ensure users have access to the highest spec device. The 8GB/128GB version of the OnePlus 9 Pro is available in parts of Europe and Asia.
Due to unforeseen supply constraints specific to North American devices, the company said that it’s not possible to bring this configuration to the United States and Canada.
The OnePlus 9 Pro features are as follows: 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 1440 x 3216 resolution, 20.1:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, 5nm Snapdragon 888 chipset, Hasselblad cameras, 48MP primary camera, 8MP telephoto camera, an optical zoom of 3.3x, 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP Black & White camera.
The phone has received a rating of IP68. The rating explains that the device is deemed fit enough to withstand dust, dirt, and sand. It is also resistant to submersion up to a maximum depth of 1.5m underwater for up to thirty minutes. The phone has a 4500mAh battery powering the device.
