Elon Musk has revealed that his humanoid robots can develop unique personalities, Moreover, they are even able to become friends with humans.
The world’s richest man has opened up about his plan for Tesla Bot, suggesting that humans will be living alongside robots as their companions.
Elon Musk Reveals Key Details About His Tesla Bots
During an appearance on Lex Fridman’s podcast (via Mirror), the 50-year-old business magnate revealed that his robots could one day befriend humans.
“It could develop a personality over time that is unique. It’s not like all the robots are the same,” he said. “That personality could evolve to match the owner, or whatever you want to call it,” he said.
Aside from that, Musk even revealed Tesla Bot’s specifications, adding that manufacturing will start next year. Moreover, Musk stated that he wanted his robots to do jobs that no one want to do first.
For instance, these robots could pick vegetables and fruits from farms in Britain.
“That’s what we’re aiming for, for the humanoid robots to do jobs that humans don’t necessarily want to do,” he added.

Musk said the robots will come in handy when it comes to “repetitive and boring work” that could lead to human injury. Although Musk did not confirm that humans would be in charge of the robots as “owners,” he admitted that robots could make the “perfect buddy”.
The podcast host, Fridman agreed with The Boring Company founder’s inventions could combat loneliness. For those who are unaware, Fridman is a scientist who studies human-robot interactions.
Weighing in at 56kg, the Tesla Bot will stand 5’8 tall. Musk nicknamed the humanoid android Optimus subprime. Furthermore, he confirmed that he plans to start building Tesla Bot next year.
In the wide-ranging discussion with the podcast host, Musk talked about topics of the future and technology. According to Musk, Tesla is currently focusing on renewable energies. However, the company could deviate its focus to making Tesla Bots in the future.
