John Swan revealed that he has been the impersonator behind the fake Dream accounts on Discord.
YouTuber John Swan finally accepted that he was pretending to be Dream on Discord using fake accounts. Swan said he was ashamed of his actions, while Dream is just happy the situation has come to an end but is understandably disappointed in Swan.
The drama swirled around Dream earlier this month as users made fake accounts impersonating the Minecraft YouTuber. People behind the fake accounts shared heinous messages on Discord.
The was linked to another YouTuber John Swan at the time, who has more than 150,000 subscribers. When Dream called Swan out for being behind the fake accounts, Swan accused Dream of trying to “smear” his name.
Swan has now admitted and taken “full responsibility” for his actions, sharing a lengthy post on Twitter on Feb. 27. He captioned the post, “taking accountability.” Swan says “there is no excuse for what I did and I take full responsibility.”

“I panicked. I told a lie and thought it would never get brought back up again. I was wrong.
“…I should have just said it was me all along, but I didn’t. I dug myself deeper and deeper, and I got caught up with everything. I lied about a massive creator and I’m sorry. There is no excuse.”
Dream thanked Swan for taking responsibility, saying, “Thank you for the apology and confession.”
Shortly before Swan’s admission, Dream had posted a lengthy tweet confirming that Swan was behind the fake profiles and messages. “I’m glad this has come to an end,” he tweeted.
“But severely disappointed in John Swan for continuing to lie about me, despite me giving him multiple opportunities, to tell the truth. I would like an apology to me and my community from John Swan, but I’ll probably not get one.”
That’s it though I don’t plan on talking about it anymore. and remember, don’t attack anyone on my behalf. thank you guys for the support as always <33 and detective dream on top (lol)

He withdrew the apology statement, following Swan’s post. Swan said he wanted to make a video about it but couldn’t since he was traveling, however, he will likely release a video once he returns, according to Dexerto.
His channel has 176,000 subscribers, and there is a possibility that the count could either increase or decrease as fans make their minds about the situation. Meanwhile, Dream’s channel continues to grow and is currently on 18.7 million subscribers.
