A man who unboxed a CSGO knife live during the recently concluded Blast Paris Major 2023 revealed that the opening was faked.
A case unboxing during a major is always a hyped moment. However, it does not necessarily guarantee good skin.
Recently, a player unboxed a Chroma 3 case during the grand finals of CSGO’s last Major. Much to his delight, the player hit the jackpot with a knife.
The camera cut to a fan’s laptop during a downtime moment during the grand finals. Notably, there was a case ready to be opened.

A fan unboxes CSGO knife at Blast Paris Major 2023
While this is a common sight in the Major, the player unboxed a knife, surprising the entire stadium. As expected, the clip went viral. However, a CSGO data miner, Ale noted that the unboxing could be faked.
I HATE TO BE THIS GUY BUT I’M DEBUNKING THE KNIFE CLIP@CounterStrike added the inspect items button in August 2022 which is missing here which proves the clip is a fake old recording I’M SORRY 💀💀💀 pic.twitter.com/rBUlWU5x6L

Ale pointed out that the man’s unboxing didn’t have an added function. “[Valve] added the inspect items button in August 2022 which is missing here which proves the clip is a fake old recording,” he said.
So, streamer OhnePixel went on to talk to the fan after the Major, asking if the clip was fake or not. According to a Dexerto report, the fan confirmed it was fake.
“So, boys. It was all staged, it was all faked!” he said. “It was the greatest lie from the beginning, I’m not here to lie anymore, it was faked.”
