Corpse Husband Explains Why Anime Voice Acting Was Embarrassing

Corpse Husband deems his anime voice acting debut as “embarrassing,” despite his excitement.

Corpse Husband made headlines recently when he revealed that he’d landed a starring role in Funimation’s Tribe Nine anime (via FlashReporter). Although he was super excited, the YouTube star claims his voice acting experience was a little “embarrassing.”

To recall, Corpse Husband rose to popularity during the Among Us boom back in 2020. He has transitioned from a horror story narration channel to quite a popular music artist.

Taking to his Twitter on Feb. 7, Corpse announced that he will be voicing Ojiro Otori in the English version for Tribe Nine.

If some clips from the English dub are anything to go by, Corpse’s trademark deep voice is perfect for the show’s masked-up villain.

During a live stream with Valkyrae and Sykkuno, Corpse Husband admitted that his first-ever voice acting experience was a little awkward.

Although Corpse enjoyed the overall experience, he wasn’t super excited about one particular bit that involve making all the grunting “anime noises.”

“Making anime noises has to be one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever done,” he admitted.

“You have like, a director there, all your audio is being routed to the studio, and they have to listen to you making noises in silence. It’s bad.”

However, Valkyrae told Corpse that he can now call himself a proper, professional voice actor. “Oh, god,” Corpse jokingly replied.

Nevertheless, making anime noises in the booth does not overshadow the fact that Corpse was super excited about landing his first major voice acting role in an anime.

Aside from that, Ojiro seems to be a perfect character for Corpse, too. The character’s mask, cape, and hair are quite similar to Corpse’s online avatar.

Tribe Nine is currently streaming on Funimation. Watch this space for Corpse Husband’s upcoming announcements.
