Adin Ross admitted that he promoted a “trash” cryptocurrency to his audience. Several weeks after the promotion, the popular Twitch streamer is laughing about the deal and hopes no one actually bought it.
In 2021, cryptocurrencies and token exchange platforms have become notable sponsors across social media. We have seen a myriad of engagements including social media influencers supporting new crypto marketplaces and Floyd Mayweather touting crypto coins and urging people to take advantage of the currency, per The Sun.
Aside from that, esports organization TSM signed a $210 million deal with crypto exchange FTX. This has helped sponsorships to spread across other streaming platforms. Just like other streamers, Ross jumped in on the crypto push bandwagon on Twitch.

However, just weeks after engaging in the crypto push on the Amazon-owned platform, Ross is laughing off one such deal. He even admitted that he hopes “none of his fans actually bought in.”
Ross pushed a newly created M*LF Token during a sponsored Twitch stream in May. He was converting a considerable amount of money into cryptocurrency while pushing it in front of his viewers watching him live. Aside from that, he promoted the Token in a tweet, that he later deleted.
During Ross’ sponsored stream, M*LF Token was valued at over $0.001 on CoinMarketCap. However, the value of the cryptocurrency is now $0.00006. This is a notable 180 percent decline in just a few weeks.

During his June 18 broadcast, Ross reflected on his paid engagement with the crypto brand. “Chat, by the way, that M*LF Token sh** I did a while back… I already told you guys, don’t buy that sh**.”
“I got paid a bag to do that sh**,” he said. “I don’t give a f***,” he added. “Hope none of you guys actually bought it.”
His actions have understandably drawn criticism from his fellow internet celebs. Plenty of big names including Cody Ko and the NELK Boys slammed streamers for scamming their viewers with these sponsored deals.
