On July 28, Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel was banned from Twitch for five hours over the NBC Olympics stream, marking his fourth ban since the start of 2020. His latest suspension marks the fourth time the Amazon-owned platform’s biggest streamer has been restricted from streaming.
The aforesaid ban is likely due to rebroadcasting a slew of events from the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, according to Dexerto. Just ahead of the ban, the last image on the Canadian Twitch streamer channel showed him watching the Judo match between Arai Chizuru (Japan) and Michaela Polleres (Australia).
xQc admitted that he believed the suspension was linked to the live DMCA over rebroadcasting the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. “I took necessary precautions and thought it would be fine. Really didn’t expect it, but I could’ve easily avoided this,” he said.

He defied Twitch guidelines during his stream, telling his viewers that he could simply disable the aforesaid VOD afterward, and “be in the clear.”
Although Tokyo 2020 has a heavier DMCA presence, Broadcasting corporations reportedly use live-tracking technology to track offending streams. It automatically takes them down if any copyrighted material is found. xQc’s Tokyo 2020 stream broadcast was removed from Twitch at the time of writing.

This is his fourth Twitch ban since the start of 2020. He was first banned in March 2020, and the ban lasted for three days. He was then banned for a single day. The one after that was a lengthier ban, where was forced off Twitch for seven days.
