Valkyrae says she is shocked after learning that Addison Rae had launched a blue light product after RFLCT controversy.
Addison Rae is gearing up for the imminent launch of a new blue light skincare line just months after Valkyrae drew flak for launching similar products under the RFLCT line, according to DotEsports.
Valkyrae Shuts Down RFLCT
In 2021, Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter launched a skincare line for protecting the skin against the harmful effects of blue light. Devices like PCs, and smartphones emit this allegedly harmful blue light.
However, the powerful claims of the product failed to live up to critics’ expectations, and her skincare venture came under fire. According to critics, there’s a dearth of conclusive evidence that proves the blue light can be damaging.

As a result, Rae shut down the project, removing her RFLCT line from ULTA’s online store and the brand’s official website.
Addison Rae Launches A Blue Light Product
Interestingly, just months after Valkyrae shut down RFLCT, TikTok star Addison Rae launched a similar product line under her already existing Item Beauty range.
As expected, critics did not receive the announcement well, leading to a controversy similar to one surrounding RFLCT in October 2021.
Moreover, commenting on the matter via a tweet, Valkyrae said she “wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same company”. She even joked about rebranding to “just Valky.”
The next day, she shed more light on her stance, claiming she was shocked by the announcement and wanted to get in touch with Addison Rae to support her amid the ongoing controversy over her new skincare venture.
Valkyrae’s Advice To Addison Rae
“I was shocked,” she admitted. “I kind of want to message her and be like, ‘Listen, hey girl. Rae to Rae, man. If you wanna vent to me, you know, is there something… you wanna talk about it?’”
“I just can’t believe that this happened!” she added. “I can’t believe it!”
Furthermore, Rae admitted that her agent had initially advised her to remain mum on the line, given that she was still risking possible lawsuits after breaking her RFLCT contract.
