Twitter finally removes auto-crop feature: Twitterverse reacts

Twitter auto crop feature, which has been a source of misery for the Twitterverse for quite some time, has finally been removed.

The developers have removed cropping on the microblogging website as of May 5, much to the delight and relief of the Twitterverse. The cropping feature has been the bane of people using Twitter.

The feature has caused continual trouble for artists. The crop usually focuses on a small subtext or irrelevant part of an image. Regrettably, those interested in the full image had to keep scrolling on by.

Several users’ prayers were finally answered on May 6 with Twitter announcing that it has removed the feature on “iOS and Android as of May 5.”

“No bird too tall, no crop too short. Introducing bigger and better images…now available to everyone,” the company tweeted.

As expected, everyone including game developers to Twitter artists has reacted by sharing big pictures of their favorite pieces. It is worth noting that pictures with an over 2:1 aspect ratio will still be cropped.

PC users will not be able to access the uncropped pictures at the moment. However, mobile users will now be able to enjoy memes and Twitter’s best art without even having to tap into a thread.
